Meet All Five Families
Our local team in Colombia worked closely with leaders in the community of Villa Garzón Alto, Soacha, in Bogota to identify these five families needing a new home. They are the Pinzon family, the Nino family, the Ramirez family, the Beltran family, and the Ramirez family. You can learn more about their stories by accessing their family pages on our homepage.
TECHO selected these five families for this campaign to receive a new house. All five families listed as beneficiaries of this competition will receive a brand-new home from TECHO regardless of the amount raised by this campaign. If this campaign exceeds the fundraising target needed to build the houses for the five families, TECHO will use the surplus to support the construction of new homes for other needy families.
Where does your donation go?
The Project
With your contribution, TECHO will be able to give all these five families a new home. It takes two full days to build one house. The home stands on 12 piles and is raised from the ground to protect from moisture, floods, and pests. The home is made out of prefabricated wood panels, which allows beneficiary families and volunteers to participate in the construction without considerable technical training.
The Impact
TECHO will use all donations raised by the participants in this competition to build these five families a new home. If this campaign exceeds the fundraising target needed to build houses for the five families listed as beneficiaries, TECHO will use the surplus to support the construction of new homes for other needy families.
