Meet The Pinzon Family
Martha joined the Villa Garzón Alto, Soacha community about two years ago. She is the head mother of the family and lives with her two children, her daughter-in-law, and her grandson. She works as a street vendor and carries a wheelbarrow full of fruit and vegetables to Bogota, which she sells during the day.
For her, it is a blessing to receive a new TECHO house because she and her family will have a place where her grandson can grow up safely.
Where does your donation go?
The Project
With your contribution, TECHO will be able to give this family a new home. It takes two full days to build the house. The home stands on 12 piles and is raised from the ground to protect from moisture, floods, and pests. The home is made out of prefabricated wood panels, which allows beneficiary families and volunteers to participate in the construction without considerable technical training.
The Impact
TECHO will use all donations raised by the participants in this competition to build them a new home. If this campaign exceeds the fundraising target needed to build houses for the five families listed as beneficiaries, TECHO will use the surplus to support the construction of new homes for other needy families.
